Chandipaath Series (Chapter-6) --- Dhumralochan Vadh (killing)

Maharishi Medha continued the narration of Sri Durga Saptasati:-


After knowing the reluctance of Mata Ambika, the messenger went straight to Shumbh. He narrated the view of the goddess which made the demon king very angry. He instructed his chief of army Dhumralochan " Dhumralochan, you go to the wicked lady and bring her to me dragging by her hair. If anyone else tries to save her, then kill him.


Dhumralochan went to Devi Durga with sixty thousand demons and challenged her. He ordered her:- "You egotistic lady, come with me immediately to the palace of our king. How dare you ignore the order of Shumbh. Now if you deny my order, then get ready for consequences."


Maa Durga replied innocently - "You are a very powerful man. That too you have come with such a large army. What can I do against you."

Dhumralochan understood the sarcastic word of the goddess. He got furious with rage and came forward towards her. Maa Durga, made a 'hun' (हुंकार) sound and turned him into ash. Seeing their leader dead, the army of Dhumralochan attacked the Devi unitedly. The lion of the goddess killed many demons. Some were severely injured by his paws. Some lost their limbs. Some were beheaded by his paws. The lion alone destroyed the armies of Dhumralochan.
